We have received a very nice letter from Brain Tumour Research, together with a certificate for this year’s donation:
Thank you so much for your donation of £1,000 raised at your Bridport Hat Festival Wear A Hat Day 2016 event! Please pass on our grateful thanks and appreciation to everyone who took part. Thousands of organisations, schools, clubs and individuals took part this year, making it the HATTIEST by far!
The money you have raised will help fund vital, life-saving research at our Centres of Excellence. Each day of research costs £2,740 and you can find out more about how this money is spent on our website, or join us on a lab-tour to see firsthand! Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. We are striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research. Thanks to you, we are now over half-way to achieving our goal.
Did you know? We have lots of other great fundraising opportunities throughout the year that you can get involved with. Why not host a Summer Get Together or take part in one of our Fighting Force challenge events? Visit our website for more information: www.braintumourresearch.org
Thank you so much for your continued support of our vital work.
Together we will find a cure.
Yours in hope
Sue Farrington Smith
