FRIDAY 2nd  September 2016

8pm Bridport Hat Festival’s official opening concert with Hank Wangford and the Lost Cowboys at the Electric Palace.

9.15pm Music at the Ropemakers with Davey Malone and the Longtails – Free Entry.

SATURDAY 3rd September 2016

Bucky Doo Square

10 am. Mayor’s welcome in Bucky Doo Square.

10.05am – 1pm. ‘The Pop Club Stage’ will feature young musicians from Beaminster, Dorchester and Weymouth Pop Clubs, and solo acts and duos from amongst the members.

10am – 4pm Hat & Millinery Trade Stands plus a Display of entries for the Milliners & Hatters Open Competition, in the Town Hall.

10am – 4pm Pop-up bands, buskers and street entertainment throughout town.

10am – 1pm On-street short listing of the ‘Fun’ Hat Competitions from amongst the general public in Bucky Doo Square & the Millennium Green.

12am-3pm Music with Gary Smith at the Bridport & West Dorset Club.

1pm – 1.30pm. MASS HATTED PHOTO in Bucky Doo Square.

1.30pm – 2pm. Judging and prize giving for the ‘fun’ Hat Competition: Best Lady’s, Best Gentleman’s, Best Boy’s, BestGirl’s and the Most Elegantly Hatted Couple,

2pm -5pm. ‘The Pop Club Stage’ will feature young musicians from Beaminster, Dorchester and Weymouth Pop Clubs, and solo acts and duos from amongst the members.

5pm – 5.15pm. Judging of the Best Hat & Millinery Trade Stand Display at the Town Hall, prize donated by Brain Tumour Research.

5.15pm – 6pm Final judging and prize-giving of the Milliners & Hatters Open Competition, at the Town Hall.

Bull Hotel

11am – 12noon. A talk – The madness of hats! by Roger Snook

2.30pm – 3.30pm. A talk – An Insider’s Guide to Millinery’  by Ashley Wild (Senior Designer) and Rebecca Witt (Production Coordinator) of multi award-winning milliner Vivien Sheriff.

6pm Cocktails and Fascinators in the Venner Bar, Bull Hotel.

8am – 4pm. Bridport Market, throughout the town centre.

10am – 5pm. The Art & Vintage Quarter at St Michael’s Trading Estate.

11.00 – 11.30am. Children’s Story Time at the Library.

7.30pm – 11pm. Bridport Ceilidh at St Mary’s Hall with the Patchwork band and caller Eileen Nightingale. Prizes for the best/silliest hats.

West Street

8pm The Market House are holding a casino evening with profits to the Hat Festival charities.

9:15pm. Ropemakers Arms, West Street, Music with Jack Scrumpy and the Moonshiners – Free Entry

St Michael’s Estate

10am – 5pm. The Art & Vintage Quarter at St Michael’s Trading Estate.

4pm – 11pm. The Moonfayre stage will be situated outside the Red Brick Cafe bands include: ExBoss, Tori Reed Band, Follow the Sun, Them Voices Poor, Arbour. Djs will be hosted by DJ Jiller and crew

East Street

8pm – 12.30 Chapel in the Garden.Beat Safari – An Alice in Wonderland themed Dance Party for over 18’s  night, Fancy Hats, Groovy Dancing, Ska , Reggae , Latin , Swing and Funk, Ticketed Event – £7.00

SUNDAY 4th  September 2015

12noon – 2.30pm. The Ropemakers Mad Hatters Sunday Lunch – Bottle of wine awarded for the best head attire. Normal size Sunday lunch £10.95, smaller portions for smaller appetites available.

1.45pm – 4.30pm. Tea Dance hosted by Glenn Bayliss in the Bull Hotel Ballroom.

5pm – 6pm. Best Ladies Fascinator prize award in the Venner Bar – cocktails available.
