Hatfest increases donations to charity in 2015!

The Hat Festival raises money for hat and thus head, related charities. In 2014 we donated a total of £2280 pounds to charity and in 2015 this increased to £3030.

Previously we have supported Brian Tumour Research – which supports research into this terrible disease and the Brian Injury Rehabilitation Trust – which aids people suffering from trauma. In 2015 we also donated to 2 charities that support Mental Health: Mencap & the Alzheimer’s Society.

The costs of the festival are met by donations from our sponsors, from the proceeds of the Hat Auction and from such activities as selling Hat Festival bags, T Shirts and Badges. Any money left over is added to the collections made on the day, and given to charity.

Brain Tumour Research and the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust; each received the sum of £1250, and £250 was donated to West Dorset Mencap and to the Alzheimer’s Society –  which runs a local support group.

We look forward to 2016’s festival and hope that again we be able to show the incredible generosity of the Mad Hatters of Bridport!
